Collection: Belt Driven Air Compressors
Belt-Driven Compressors: In these types, a belt connects the motor and compressor pump. When the motor runs, the belt drives the pump, compressing air.
Benefits:
- Belt-driven compressors are generally cooler and last longer.
- They produce less vibration and so therefore are more quiet.
- The belt and pulley mechanism is somewhat variable for speed and performance.
Weaknesses:
-
Belt-driven compressors require more maintenance the belts wear out resulting in tears and should be replaced regularly.
-
Belt-driven compressors are generally bigger and more intricate, meaning more parts to service.
